Stop Credit Discrimination in Employment Act Reintroduced!

April 10, 2014 — Today, the NYC Council re-introduced the Stop Credit Discrimination in Employment Act (Brad Lander, chief sponsor), Intro. 261. The bill would ban the use of credit checks in employment. Council Members Lander, Rose, Menchaca, Chin and others joined more than 100 community, labor, and civil rights groups — along with New Yorkers denied jobs due to credit checks — at a rally today on the steps of City Hall.
